  • The epitome of a British sports car
  • Eligible for the Mille Miglia

The 100-6 BN4, which was introduced to replace the Austin-Healey 100, was instantly recognisable to the public as an Austin-Healey, but it introduced several compelling improvements. Chief amongst these improvements would be its six-cylinder engine. Additional improvements included two small rear seats being added, a fixed windshield, and a wider radiator grille that was mounted in a slightly lower location compared to its predecessor. Where the 100 was clearly a sports car through and through, the 100-6 was clearly intended with added comfort for longer drives in mind, but it still retained the 100’s sporting character.

As documented by its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, this 1957 100-6 BN4 Roadster was built on 1 March 1957, and it was delivered new, with wire wheels, a laminated windscreen, a heater, and overdrive, to an Austin-Healey dealership in New York City. The car remained in the United States for its whole life, until it was recently purchased by an individual residing in the United Kingdom.

As the car was not in operational condition when it was purchased by its current owner, Classic World Racing Ltd. in Redditch was commissioned to undertake a full restoration to bring this Austin-Healey back to its former glory. Considering its recent restoration, this Healey will surely be enjoyed for its wonderful driving dynamics wherever it goes, and it would be ideal for the enthusiast looking to enjoy the pleasures of open-air motoring with more than just one passenger.

Addendum

Please note that this Austin-Healey is thought to be a low mileage example and has recently been restored by Classic World Racing Ltd. Please also note that the estimate in the catalogue was printed incorrectly and should read €40,000 - €50,000.
