1963 Fiat 500 D

  • Chassis no. 100D 549400
  • Engine no. 100D 000 863951

Sold for €19.600

19.5 hp, 499 cc two-cylinder engine, four-speed unsynchronised manual transmission, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel drum brakes. Wheelbase: 1,840 mm

  • Beautifully restored with personality to spare
  • Desirable convertible and suicide-door version of the adorable Cinquecento
  • Accredited by the Automotoclub Storico Italiano

The 500 D presented here was originally sold in Ancona, Italy, to Alessandro Mengarelli. He kept the Fiat for several years, before it was acquired by Emilio Bronzini in January 1965. On 21 October 1967, it was purchased by Roberto Massacesi through the Fiat dealer in Ancona. Massacesi maintained the 500 D until 17 October 1981, when it was sold to Illana Taraschio. In 2008, Emilio Calzzareto was reported to be the next owner.

This example features the desirable convertible body style, offering al fresco motoring not even found in the popular sunroof variant of the 500. This 500 D, fresh off of a rotisserie restoration, is presented in period-correct Verdi Oasi 383 over a light tan interior. It is thoroughly equipped and includes an original jack and tools, which are wrapped up in a correct Fiat roll; a rear mounted luggage rack and suitcase; and original registration documentation and manuals.

This vehicle is, without a doubt, one of the finest 500 Ds available, and it is ready to provide its next owner with a trip back to Rome in the post-war golden era.

Moteur bicylindre 499 cm3, 19,5 ch, transmission manuelle quatre rapports non synchronisés, suspension à quatre roues indépendantes, freins à tambours sur les quatre roues. Empattement: 1 840 mm.
