RARE LIMOUSINES AND 1962 ASTON MARTIN HIGHLIGHT RM AUCTIONS’ VINTAGE MOTOR CARS IN ARIZONA SALE

Vintage Motor Cars in Arizona

$2.5 Million Dollar DB4 “Zagato” Coupe and President Kennedy and James Brown Limos to Headline 6th Annual Auto Auction at Biltmore Resort, January 28, 2005

BLENHEIM, Ontario, Canada (December 31, 2004) – RM Auctions once again brings incredible cars with record-setting potential to the auction block at its 6th Annual Vintage Motor Cars in Arizona on January 28, 2005. Hosted at the magnificent Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, the one day auction is expected to generate as much as $20 million in sales in a matter of hours, possibly eclipsing the excitement of last year’s $500,000 world record price for a 1948 Tucker Sedan.

RM Auctions is expected to make history when one of the most significant Presidential vehicles ever presented for public auction crosses the block. This 1962 Lincoln Continental Sedan Limousine was engineered and built by Ford Motor Company’s Advance Vehicle division and customized in 1961 by Hess & Eisenhardt of Cincinnati, Ohio, primarily for use by the first lady, Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy and subsequently used by President John F. Kennedy, visiting world leaders and dignitaries including Pope Paul VI and the Apollo astronauts. The car is estimated to fetch $500,000 to $1,000,000.

Legendary soul singer James Brown’s 1959 Chrysler Imperial Limousine will also cross the block. Owned in the 1970's by Brown, this Ghia styled limousine is among the rarest with only 12 ever built. Estimated at $45,000 to $55,000, the car is powered by Chrysler's famous 331 cu. in. FirePower Hemi engine and PowerFlite automatic transmission. The luxurious black interior features extra folding jump seats to accommodate up to eight passengers in grand comfort.

“These two important limousines are a fitting example of the historic value and caliber of this year’s collection of cars,” says Rob Myers of RM Auctions. “The historic Biltmore provides the perfect atmosphere and backdrop to host this world class event.”

Another of the 2005 auction headliners is a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 GT “Zagato” Coupe. This particular car was the 1962 Brands Hatch race winner, driven by sports car legend Roy Salvadori. The most unique of the 19 ever built by Italian coachbuilder Zagato, the car has a pre-auction estimate of between $2,500,000 and $2,800,000.

Another of the auction’s million dollar offerings is a 1953 Ferrari 250 MM Pinin Farina Competition Coupe. A fabulous ex-Franco Rol early V12 competition coupe complete with ACCUS and FIA papers, this car ranks among the world’s finest vintages. In 1998, this stunning Ferrari competed in the Mille Miglia Retrospective following a full restoration by a leading expert in the marque. Its auction estimate is $1,100,000 to $1,500,000.

For collectors of the quintessential American classic, RM offers a distinguished 1934 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Coupe – one of the most expensive and luxurious American cars ever built with La Grande coachwork by the A.H. Walker Company of Indiana. The car received a fresh 100 point restoration by Fran Roxas and garnished the First in Class award at Pebble Beach in 2004. Powered by a 265HP, 420 cu. in. inline eight cylinder engine, the Duesenberg features is one of only 3 Walker-LaGrande bodied Duesenbergs ever built with a value well into the seven figures. (Estimate available on request)

Additional lots offered during the sale include: - 1967 Ferrari 365 California Spyder (est. $650,000 - $750,000) - 1933 Stutz DV-32 Convertible Coupe (est. $500,000 - $600,000) - 1954 Ferrari 250 Europa Pininfarina (est. $400,000 - $500,000) - 1953 Chrysler GS-1 Thomas Special by Ghia (est. $300,000 - $400,000) - 1957 BMW 507 Roadster - $280,000 (est. $310,000) - 1929 Bentley 4.5-liter VDP Tourer (est. $275,000 - $325,000) - 1959 Cadillac "Cadster" Custom Convertible (est. $150,000 - $175,000 ) - A fine selection of rare automotive mascots, including a stunning 1925 Rene Lalique glass mascot "Victoire, Spirit of the Wind" (est. $15,000 - $20,000)

The auction will be held at the majestic Frank Lloyd Wright designed Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. Known as "The Jewel of the Desert," the Biltmore has been the preferred hotel of America's Presidents including John F. Kennedy since it opened 1929, providing a fitting background for the historical White House limousine.

The sale is Friday, January 28th, 2005 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Vehicles can be previewed beginning Thursday January 27th from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m and Friday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. Admission is $30 per person with children under 12 admitted free of charge. An auction catalog is available for $60 (U.S.) including shipping and handling within North America, by calling 800-211-4371.
