1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

  • Chassis no. WP0ZZZ91ZKS152325
  • Engine no. 64K06400
  • Gearbox no. 1K05016

  • Just 577 km from new
  • Rare narrow body example, one of only 171 built
  • Offered in remarkably original and unrestored condition

Lauded as an instant classic when it launched in 1989, the 911 Speedster was an homage to the original 356 Speedster of the 1950s. With its 8-cm lower and 5° more rakish windshield over the standard Cabriolet, boasting a minimalist look and weighing 70 kg less than the standard Cabriolet, this limited-edition 911 was a true enthusiast’s car. Powered by Porsche’s H-program 3.2-litre 231-bhp flat six-cylinder engine, the Speedster was based on the Carrera 2 platform fitted with the suspension modified to “Turbo” specifications.

The two rear seats were removed by the factory to accommodate the cover for the fabric roof, which gave the car a dynamic and unique look. At the time, Porsche offered as options the self-locking differential, leather interiors, metallic finish and air conditioning. Of the total production run of 2,200 cars, only 171 were delivered with the narrow body style, making this particular “non-Turbo Look” version of the Speedster even more desirable for collectors.

This particular example is one of those few narrow-body cars, and it is presented here in remarkable original and unrestored condition, having been driven a paltry 577 km from new. Furthermore, it is worth noting that this Speedster’s original odometer was replaced in January of 2011 by Porsche Zentrum 5 Seen of Gilching, Germany. At this time, the odometer and speedometer were replaced, as the speedometer needle was jumpy. This was done at a reading of 567 km, verified by Porsche. Since the installation of the new odometer, it has been driven just 10 km, meaning that the car has travelled a total of 577 km from new. This is verified in a letter on file from Porsche Zentrum 5 Seen.

Without a doubt one of the lowest mileage examples extant, this is truly an exceptional find for the collector of supremely original 911s.

• Seulement 577 km d'origine
